Orchestry Data Storage

Orchestry stores the minimal set of data required for operation.

We do not store additional user information apart from the minimal set of information such as Microsoft Graph ID. This information is not shared with third parties or exported.

Orchestry and Microsoft 365 data is primarily stored in three (3) locations, with an emphasis on storing client sensitive data within the client’s SharePoint tenant in the Orchestry site collection.

Orchestry encourages customers to self-host their data stored in Azure CosmosDB, Table Storage, and SQL Server.

Orchestry Data Logs & Obfuscation

Orchestry temporarily stores data logs to help us troubleshoot any issues you may come across, such as provisioning issues, archival issues, etc.  By default, we obfuscate certain types of information in these logs to enhance security and privacy. 

If the need arises, the Orchestry support team may request to un-obfuscate your logs to help us troubleshoot your support tickets.  

Where is Workspace Management Data Stored?

Workspace Reports Data Storage

Workspace Report data is any data that contains information about the workspaces and is typically visible from the Workspace Reports page. This includes aggregated information about the workspaces, usage, counts and other types of data. 

By default, this data is stored in the highly secure Orchestry Cosmos DB instance that is backed up, regionalized (NA/EU/AU), monitored and encrypted at transport and rest. The region where this data is hosted is based on the region selected by the client during the installation process.

Consider the following when selecting a region:

  • Select an Orchestry region closest to your Entra and Microsoft 365 data locations for lowest latency
  • You can find your Entra AD location in the Entra Portal (Entra > Properties > Location)
  • You can find your Microsoft 365 data location in the Admin Portal (Settings > Org Settings > Organization Profile > Data Location)

Hosting your Own Workspace Reports Data

Orchestry also provides you with the ability to host this data on your own Cosmos DB instance by providing an access string that Orchestry can use. This data can then be self-hosted by the customer that gives you full control and access to this data.

Policies Configuration Data

Data to do with policy configuration and history is stored in the Orchestry secure SQL instance. This data is secured, backed up and stored in the same location as other Orchestry configurations such as workspace templates.
