What Microsoft 365 Challenges Does Orchestry Solve?

Orchestry is a new platform that makes work simple in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online, as well as across many other Microsoft 365 business apps. Discover the story behind Orchestry, the problems it was created to solve, and how it can help you take your experience in Microsoft 365 to the next level.

What is Orchestry?

Orchestry is an adoption and governance platform for Microsoft 365. Our mission is to make work simple in Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams, by empowering IT administrators and employees to define a winning Microsoft 365 adoption and change management strategy that provides a roadmap of what to use when, for what purpose.

Where Did The Idea For Orchestry Come From?

At the start of our journey with Orchestry, we spoke to countless Microsoft Partners and customers to learn more about their experience in Microsoft 365. Through these conversations, it quickly became clear that there were four major problems that most organizations face when working in Microsoft 365.

So, we set out to create Orchestry, a comprehensive adoption and governance platform that makes work simple in Microsoft 365 and solve these four major challenges for users:

What to use and when in Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 offers a comprehensive range of tools and solutions. However, there are now so many applications, you are often faced with the question – which is the best tool to use when?

This question is hugely problematic for end-users, especially in organizations that aren’t investing resources into training to support users with Microsoft 365. How are you meant to know which tool is the best solution for your task?

Orchestry enables a business-first conversation, to eliminate the nuances within Microsoft 365 making it easy for users to decide on the best application for the task at hand, by selecting the purpose or outcome without needing to be a technology expert.

Templating in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online

When researching common problems in Microsoft 365, the issue of templating came up again and again in conversations with partners about Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online. There are some basic templating capabilities in Microsoft Teams, but there is no out-of-the-box end-to-end template solution.

With Orchestry, you will have access to a number of pre-built workspace templates for Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online. Plus, you have the flexibility to decide between using Orchestry’s pre-built, best practice Workspace Templates or easily creating your own to fit the specific needs or your organization. It’s a win-win!

Provisioning to Prevent Sprawl in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online

If you don’t have an effective provisioning strategy in place, then you are likely to face the issue of sprawl within Microsoft Teams. Unfortunately, there was no end to end provisioning solution that would work across Microsoft 365 Applications from Groups to Teams, to SharePoint sites and folders.

Orchestry’s intuitive, simple and user-friendly interface makes provisioning in Microsoft 365 easier than ever before. The interactive Workspace Request wizard provides users with a guided experience when requesting a Workspace and aligns various Microsoft 365 apps behind the scenes. Plus, additions such as Workspace Request History, Default Owners & Members, Workspace Features, Document Templates and Naming Policies, all work together to make provisioning simple.

Overview of Office 365 Governance in Orchestry

Governance in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online

Governance has always been an issue in SharePoint, and with Microsoft Teams it’s even more difficult as it’s so easy to create new teams. We have seen cases where organizations have launched Microsoft Teams and have had 5,000 Teams created within the first two weeks. There are some out-of-the-box governance capabilities within Microsoft Teams, but we wanted to create a more robust solution that effectively controlled who could create what and when.

Orchestry empowers governance across Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Groups and SharePoint Online sites through a single interface. With Orchestry, you can experience many governance quick wins including the implementation of custom approval processes, naming conventions, custom metadata and more.

Who is Orchestry For?

Orchestry is for organizations of all sizes, no matter what point they are at in the Microsoft 365 journey. So far, we have seen three main scenarios where organizations have been benefitting from Orchestry’s many features:

  • Microsoft Teams Pre-Launch – Organizations that are about to turn on Microsoft Teams, but aren’t exactly sure how to roll it out or how they will manage it when they do. Thanks to Orchestry’s templates, if you are rolling out Microsoft Teams within your organization, then users won’t be going in with a blank slate. They will be able to work within Orchestry’s user-friendly templates, making the adoption process more enjoyable and efficient, resulting in higher up-take among end-users.
  • Microsoft Teams Mediation – Organizations that have launched Microsoft Teams but haven’t managed it effectively, resulting in uncontrollable sprawl and hundreds of inactive Teams and Channels. Workplace directories within Orchestry allow you to see all your Teams and add meta-data for advanced filtering or to provide structure.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 Customers – Advanced users of Microsoft 365 can use Orhcestry to implement PNP web parts to allow a higher level of customization for users without requiring IT help and support.
